Celebrity Engagement

Happy Memorial Day. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Well the celebrity couple that got engaged this week is no other than Kim Kardashian. Boyfriend Kris Humphries, player on the NBA's New Jersey Nets, proposed at Kardashian's home in Beverly Hills on May 18th. He wrote out "Will You Marry Me?" in red rose petals . Kim was shocked, but I heard it was all caught on tape and will be shown on a future episode of The Kardashian's. The couple have been dating for 6 months. Kim is 30 and Kris is only 26.

Kris proposed with a custom 20.5-carat Lorraine Schwartz diamond engagement ring. The $2 million ring has a 16.5-carat emerald center stone flanked by two-carat trapezoids on each side. Really is that necessary??

I am sure the wedding will be BIG. Can't wait til they pick a wedding date..Enjoy!

Saturday Movie Review: To Rent or Not to Rent

This week I got "Unstoppable" from the library. Of course you all saw the previews for this with Denzel Washington saving the day. But to see what went on in the course of the run away train was worth watching.


An unmanned freight train accidentally gets away from the two men that were moving it onto another track. The train is carrying three cars worth of explosive content. As the train is moving through towns, lives are in danger. There is one other train on the tracks and is run by a Frank( Denzel Washington) the engineer and Will (Chris Pine) the conductor. They're chasing the runaway train in a separate locomotive and need to bring it under control before it derails and causes a toxic spill that will decimate a town.

Of course Frank and Will save the day, but it is heroic. A good rental for this holiday weekend..Enjoy!

Celebrity Wedding

Actress Sara Rue married Kevin Price at the Bel Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades on Saturday(5/21) .

The couple were married under a chuppah covered with sunflowers and yellow and white roses and greenery.

Rue wore Amsale’s “Bijou” wedding dress and turquoise peep toe heels by Aaron Smith. I love how her shoes matched her bridesmaid dresses.

A butterfly and hummingbird reception followed where vegetarian food was on the menu and beer pong tables were set up on the patio.

Three wedding cakes by Jamaicas Cakes were served including flavors of red velvet and pumpkin caramel and guests took home ping pong paddles as favors, which is such a unique idea. There were also parasols for guests with the saying: to have and to hold from this day forward. There are tons of small extra touches you can add to your wedding to make it a lasting memory for everyone. Enjoy!

Saturday Movie Review: To Rent or Not to Rent

This week I got "Love & Other Drugs" from the library.

Jamie (Jake Gyllenhaal) is a young salesman competing in the pharmaceuticals industry. He sets his sights on Doctor Knight (Hank Azaria), the leading general physican in his region. He lures Dr. Knight with a bribe for a chance to shadow his practice and convince him that his drugs are better for his patients. While he pretends to be Dr. Knights intern, he meets patient Maggie Murdock (Anne Hathaway).


Jamie becomes the leading salesman of the new drug Viagra and can get any girl he wants with his charm, but only has eyes for Maggie. Maggie has Parkinson's disease, but that doesn't bother Jamie. Maggie and Jamie spend half of the movie in the bedroom, otherwise this is a great movie. She is the constant he needs in his chaotic life. The movie is fast paced and a fun watch. The movie is based on Jamie Reidy's memoir "Hard Sell: The Evolution of a Viagra Salesman. Put this one on your movie list tonight..Enjoy!

Greatest Marriage Proposal Ever

A guy Matt was looking for the best way to propose to his girlfriend Ginny and he finally found a way.

Ginny loves the movies. Ginny went to the movies with her brother and after a preview for the Hangover 2, a trailer for a movie came on. This is where Matt and her father made a "movie preview" to propose to Ginny. It is AMAZING. I give Matt a lot of credit, watch the whole proposal here. Enjoy!

Renewing wedding vows

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon recently renewed their wedding vows on their third anniversary. The ceremony took place one day after Carey gave birth to twins- their son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon and their daughter is named Monroe Cannon.

Carey and Cannon were married back in 2008 in a secret Carribbean wedding. They made it a tradition to renew their vows every year.

Celebrity Wedding

Blake Shelton is my new favorite mentor on NBC's "The Voice". If you are not watching you are missing out. Well, Blake Shelton married long time girlfriend Miranda Lambert on Saturday at Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas.

They had 550 guests in attendance - WOW. Can't wait to see those pictures.

Miranda wore her mother's wedding dress and the bridesmaids wore pink dresses with brown cowboy boots.

Of course at Celebrity Weddings their are celebrity performers at the reception and I am blown away by this lineup: Reba McEntire, Neal McCoy and Lady Antebellum. Was this a concert or a wedding?

The couple have been dating since 2006 and Blake proposed last May. It is nice to see celebrities dating for awhile and not rushing into marriage. I wish them the best and think this one is gonna last..Congrats..Enjoy!

Saturday Movie Review: To Rent or Not to Rent

This week I got "Morning Glory" from the library. This was a romantic comedy and had some great actors.

Morning Glory is about the dysfunctional world of morning television. When hard-working TV producer Becky Fuller ( Rachel McAdams) thinks she is getting a promotion, but ends up getting fired from her local news program job, she is shocked. She hasn't had luck in love either and is determined to change her life around. She gets ONE call back from the lowest ranked morning show called "Daybreak." Becky brings in legendary talent Mike Pomeroy ( Harrison Ford) and makes the show a Hit. Mike anchors alongside Colleen Peck (Diane Keaton), who he does not get along with. As the show is getting better reviews, Becky's love life is blooming too when she gets together with Adam Bennett (Patrick Wilson). Becky's boss Jerry Barnes (Jeff Goldblum) is ready to pull the plug on the morning show at the same time Becky gets an interview for her dream job at The Today Show. Stop reading if you are planning to rent...

Becky goes with her heart and stays on "Daybreak" and rebuilds her relationship with Adam for a Happy Ending to this romantic comedy. I recommend this one, my husband enjoyed too...Enjoy!

Celebrity Wedding Invites

Hugh Hefner sent out his wedding invites for his June 18th wedding to Crystal Harris. Take a look and let me know what you think- it is a Swarovski crystal encrusted card.

Hefner and Harris turned a personal photo with their dog into postage stamps for the outside of the envelope. I love this idea!!

Celebrity Wedding

The BUZZ is still on the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. By now, you had time to watch all the footage. I watched the Lifetime Movie over the weekend on William & Kate and it was done really well. I learned they met in college and actually lived together during college.

I loved Kate's wedding hair. James Pryce was her stylist and said Kate was very calm the morning of the wedding. Kate's hair was swept back from her face and pinned discreetly at the back in a "demi chignon" for the ceremony at Westminster Abbey. Day to Day, Kate wears her hair down. As most brides want to look like themselves in their wedding photos, she kept her long locks down as well. Her hair was curled in soft romantic waves behind her shoulders, showing the full detail of her dress. She wore a 1936 halo Cartier tiara, loaned by the Queen.Enjoy!
