My friend has her dress already and is not getting married until next November. She has been asking me when she should get her alterations done. This is a tough one. If you go to early, then you might lose weight closer to the wedding and your fit won't be right. If you go to late, there might be too many alterations needed and you might not get everything to the perfect fit. You should have 2-3 months from your first to last fitting. I started 3 months before my wedding and had 4 fittings for my wedding dress, so plan accordingly. Good luck!
