Saturday Movie Review: To Rent or Not to Rent

This week I got "Hereafter" from the library.

My husband was looking forward to this one as Clint Eastwood directed this movie and the star is Matt Damon. O, I love Matt Damon (Bourne Identity).

Well, the movie was not what I expected, but I enjoyed.

The movie tells the story of three people who are haunted by mortality in different ways. First, there is a young boy, Marcus (George McLaren), whose twin brother Jason gets hit by a truck and dies. Then you have George (Matt Damon), who is a blue-collar American who got sick when he was younger. George died during surgery, but was revived several times and now has a special connection with the dead. Then there is Marie (Cecile De France), who was a news reporter on holiday and became a victim of a tsunami. Marie drowned, but was then later rescued and was revived.

The movie is a little drawn out while it tells the story of the connection between the three characters. I do believe everything happens for a reason and this movie shows that very well.
