Wedding Tip #45- Staying up to date on the fashion of bridesmaid dresses. A year ago, I would be the first to say I love long gowns, but lately- short bridesmaid dresses are catching my eye. Fashion changes each season, and wedding dresses are no different.
This wedding season more and more bridesmaid dresses are short. I am in two weddings this summer- check out the cute new dresses at David's Bridal here:
This week CVS has a great deal on Kodak Picture Movie DVD's. I have made a handful of these movies and they are great. You set your pictures to a song. If you recently got married these would make great gifts for your parents. Don't forget Mother's Day is coming up soon too...
Now for the deal: Buy 2 Kodak Picture Movie DVDs for $14.99 (BOGO sale at CVS). Then use this BOGO FREE COUPON here. = 2 FREEKodak Picture Movie DVD's. Enjoy!
Tomorrow is National Pretzel Day and you can score a FREE Original Soft Pretzel at any Pretzelmaker or Pretzel Time. Just mention “National Pretzel Day” when you order to get your yummy freebie. Find your local store here..Enjoy!
Last week I scored New Moon from the library, but this week I scored The Blind Side. I LOVED this movie. I now see why Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for this touching movie. My favorite character was "SJ"- the new little brother of the lineman Michael Oher (Big Mike). This movie was based on a true story and my husband and I both enjoyed. A hit in my book..Enjoy!
I love when IKEA has a deal on their Swedish meatballs. Today and tomorrow stop in to get the Swedish meatball meal for only $1 (reg. $4.29)! The Swedish meatball meal includes 10 Swedish Meatballs and mashed potatoes. Yummy..Enjoy!!!
This offer is not valid at IKEA Hicksville, Houston or IKEA Direct.
As you all know by now, I LOVE personalized gifts. I find them extra special. I was so happy when Lauren Nicole Gifts asked me to review their Hand Stamped Silver & Pearl Necklace.
Isn't it adorable? I have been wearing mine all week and have got many compliments. Pearls are a great gift, especially for weddings. The necklace is light weight and goes with practically everything.
This hand stamped sterling silver bead dome measures 1/2" in diameter and is on top of a 12mm Swarovski Crystal pearl. The dome can be stamped with up to 14 characters and spaces. The Swarovski crystal pearl comes in white, black, light pink, light blue, or dark brown. The stamped bead charm comes on a sterling silver chain. The best part about Lauren Nicole is that each piece of jewelry is hand made to order one piece at a time. Your wedding is one of a kind, why shouldn't your jewelry. This necklace would be the perfect bridesmaid gift. The necklace is simple, yet elegant and of course personalized just for them.
Lauren Nicole gifts has many other great gifts as well. They have different Hand Stamped Necklaces, Ceramics, bookmarks, key chains, as well as personalized wedding and anniversary gifts hand made to order by Lauren Nicole, LLC.
Giveaway will end on Saturday, May 1st at 11:59 pm EST. The winner will be picked randomly and I will send them an email. The winner has 48 hours to respond to the winning email. Good Luck and thank you for stopping by...Enjoy!
This weeks wedding tip is on: Wedding Vows. My husband and I did not write our own vows, not really sure why, but it was one less thing to worry about.
Below is a sample of a traditional wedding vow:
I, (Groom's Name), take you (Bride's Name) to be my wife, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever. I will trust you and honor you I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully Through the best and the worst, Through the difficult and the easy. What may come I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold So I give you my life to keep So help me God.
I, (Bride's Name), take you (Groom's Name), to be my husband, my partner in life and my one true love. I will cherish our friendship and love you today, tomorrow, and forever I will trust you and honor you I will laugh with you and cry with you. I will love you faithfully Through the best and the worst, Through the difficult and the easy. What may come I will always be there. As I have given you my hand to hold So I give you my life to keep So help me God.
In unison: Entreat me not to leave you, or to return from following after you, For where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God. And where you die, I will die and there I will be buried. May the Lord do with me and more if anything but death parts you from me.
Aww- tears, tears, tears... "You may now kiss the bride"
Here are 3 key steps in writing your own vows: - Make sure you check with your officiant and confirm what you need to include. There are usually many religions where you need to have certain phrases. -Take time to write them out and really think about what you love about your partner and add your own touch. -PRACTICE, Practice, PRACTICE.
I have been to a wedding where the bride was so emotional that she couldn't get her vows out like she wanted to..Of course you are going to be emotional, but the more you practice, the easier the words will come out.
I would love to know if you are planning to write your own wedding vows or using the traditional vows?? Enjoy!
Origins will be giving away FREE products for Earth Day. Simply bring your current skincare product to any Origins counter tomorrow(4/22), and they'll trade you for either an Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash or an Origins Perfect World Antioxidant Cleanser with White Tea, up to a $20 value. Find a store near you...Enjoy!
Save your money and work out at home instead of purchasing a gym membership. Make it fun with a circuit workout around your home. If you have stairs in your home, do a workout walking up and down 10 times and keep increasing it. I usually talk on the phone while I walk up and down, the time passes quickly and I like to multi-task. Do a few sit-ups and crunches for good measure. Keep adding different circuits to make it challenging.
*Bonus Tip- Request a FREE "test-drive" at your local gym or take advantage of a FREE week pass. This will get you motivated and seeing what other workouts are out there for you to try at home. You can even look for a resale of gym equipment in your local city if you feel more motivated by the equipment* Enjoy!
What can I say, I ENJOYED!! I like the twilight movies, but by no means am I obsessed. I haven't read any of the books yet. I am totally on team Jacob after this movie. I'm 100% in on this movie. Go out and rent it tonight.
Check back every Saturday to see what movies are worth your time/money(of course in my opinion)...Enjoy!
Happy Tax Day...I hope all your taxes are filed and you are enjoying your Thursday.
Today's wedding tip is on filing your taxes different since you are married. This is my first year filing with my husband. Remember no matter if you are married on Jan 1st or Dec 31st or anywhere in between, you are considered married for the whole year- yep that's how taxes are considered. I found a great article on about.com here on filing your taxes once you get married. Hopefully this will help all the couples getting married in 2010..Enjoy!
Head on in to Starbucks tomorrow(4/15) for FREE coffee when you bring in a reusable mug. This is a great way to help save the environment and get some FREE coffee. Hopefully you are enjoying the Bold Coffee Journey and getting closer to your FREE Coffee. This weeks blend is Café Estima Blend® Starbucks Fair Trade Certified Coffee...Enjoy!
Stop by KFC with the printable coupon here to get a FREE Pepsi when you purchase any KFC Double Down Sandwich by 4/26. I am not suggesting this since it is SOOOO unhealthy, but it looks really good. I might have to try it, I'll let you know if I give in. I would love to know if you are going to try this new sandwich..Enjoy!
I just got back from Target and am very excited with my purchase.
Target is running a Special this week where the Special K is on sale for $2.39. Buy 5 boxes and you will get a $5 Target Gift Card to use on your next purchase. I used 5 $1.00 off coupons. You can print coupons here and/or check your coupon stash, as I had 5 from previous Sunday coupon inserts.
The Special K Granola is my favorite. This cereal is a great afternoon snack- I prefer it dry( no milk). I can munch on it all day at my desk at work...Enjoy!
Choose fruits and vegetables with the lowest price per serving. Melons, bananas, peaches are the least costly fruits according to the USDA, while veggies include potatoes, broccoli and romaine lettuce.
If you missed last week's exercise tip- check it out here...Enjoy!
I have mentioned many times in the past how I score FREE movies from my local library. I am able to keep the movies for 5 day- way better that the Redbox and Blockbuster Express where you only get it for one night.
I tend to put movies on my library card list months in advance, then once the movie comes out on DVD, I am one of the first at the library to score a copy.
Since Saturday night's are the most popular night families rent movies, I figured I would start listing the movies I got from the library this past week and if they are worth watching or not.
This week, I got:
Motherhood The Informant
Well, first I watched Motherhood and guess what her dog's name is? Coupon- I swear, I was cracking up. And to make the movie even funnier, Uma Thurman's character "blogs"- yep!! For all us bloggers out there, this movie was very cute, especially if you have kids, as she is blogging about her family. Other than that, the movie was just ok. Don't waste your money.
The Informant was very different than I expected. I LOVE Matt Damon in the Bourne movies, but wasn't loving his character that much in The Informant. The movie is a little twisted in the story line, but my Husband did enjoy. Matt is a corporate whistle-blower, but the plot thickens throughout the movie. It is a good movie to compromise on. I'm in!!
Did I hit the Jackpot yesterday for wedding colors- Take a look:
Wedding Tip # 42- Have fun picking your wedding colors. I was in Walmart and noticed there WONDERFUL collection of flip flops in EVERY COLOR. If you can't decide on your wedding colors- stop by this rack at Walmart to see them all. Flip Flops come in VERY handy for weddings. They are great to wear under your dress during your reception, they make great bridal party gifts as well as great guest favors(especially for beach weddings). You can easily buy some stones, etc to dress up the sandals. They are $2/pair.
I went ahead and bought myself an orange and blue pair for next football season (GO GATORS)..Enjoy!
Wedding season is almost here, and eating healthy and staying fit are extremely important leading up to your wedding day as well. For the next 10 weeks, check back every Monday for healthy eating and exercise tips.
Healthy Exercise Tip, week 1:
Put your sneakers where you will not forget them- grab them on your way out each day or leave them in your car or at the office for a quick walk during your break. Even a 10 minute walk a day is better than nothing- every minute counts..Enjoy!

My local Kmart is not that close by, so I might be skipping the DOUBLE COUPON Days this week since it is only up to 5 coupons- I can do just as good at CVS and Walgreens. I would love to know if you score some goodies at Kmart...Enjoy your Easter Sunday!

Tip # 41 is how to find gifts for your bridal party. The best gifts are personalized and ones your friends can use over and over again. What girl can't use this adorable cosmetic bag set. The set comes with two bags- a square cosmetic tote and a round travel case. The square tote is the perfect size for all your makeup. It even has a removable mirror =)
The round travel case would be the prefect size for your bridal party to keep their wedding makeup in for quick touch-ups. There is even a mirror hooked into the zipper.
You can personalize this cosmetic set with your bridesmaid's single script initial on both pieces in Bright Pink, Apple Green, Aqua, Red or Lavender thread at no additional cost. I choose the bright pink and love how it looks with the polka dots.
The cosmetic set is crafted on printed nylon with leatherette trim. I like how both bags have zippers, I have seen some cosmetic bags that only button shut and always get worried my makeup pencils will fall out, no worries with this cosmetic bag set.
