HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Wow- time really has been flying by. I just started blogging last month and love every minute of it. Even though I work a full time job- I still find time to bargain shop and find coupons. Thank you to all of you that have read my blog and I look to making it bigger and better in 2009! Ben & Jerry's One Sweet Deal

Ben & Jerry's is give a coupon out for $3 off on one pint of ice cream, yogurt or sorbet. Wow- I rarely see Ben & Jerry's coupons and this is my fiance's favorite. He is going to be so happy when I shop next week and he sees his favorite ice cream in the freezer. The coupon is good through 1/14/2009. Hopefully, we will see a BOGO Free special in the next few weeks.

Walgreens Red Baron Pizza Deal- $2

So I ran into Walgreens again tonight for some Red Baron Pizza's. The ad shows 2/$5. I also got some more candy for 75% off. When I got home and looked over my receipt the Red Baron Pizzas were 2/$4 on my receipt. I was sooo happy when I realized I only paid $2 a pizza. What a great bargain- and the Pizzas are really tasty. I am not sure if this was a special sale or just how they were marked in the register. Did anyone else buy the pizzas yet?? Enjoy!

There are some great restaurant deals out there this time of year.

I bought the 2009 Entertainment book and have already saved over $35 in coupons. $35 was what the book retails for- I got mine for $23 at Walgreens a few weeks ago when they had a deal. Many of the coupons are valid anytime- which means you can use it over the holidays. If you have not bought your book yet- but would like a FREE trial- which lets you print 3 coupons, go on there site and put in your email address. They will send you an email which gives you 2 weeks to try out the site. Once you print your coupons, you have 2 weeks to use the coupon. My fiance and I liked one of the restaurants we went to so much, that I went on and printed another coupon to use to go out with the family next weekend. What a great offer. The coupon was a BOGO Free up to $30!! Wow what a nice savings.

You can also check out restaurant.com, which is offering an 80% off deal. You can purchase a $25 gift certficate for $2. Plus get a FREE $25 gift certificate when you spend $11 before 1/1/09!!

You can make guacamole dip- since Hass Avocados are on sale for $1/each. Hopefully, you have the Tostitos chips from when they were on sale BOGO a few weeks ago.

There are some great deals on-line today @ Kohl's and Macy's for the After-Christmas sale. Save 20%-65% off.

JCPenny has a great sale going on tomorrow starting at 5:30am. There are doorbusters from 5:30am-1:00pm. There will be coupons in the paper for $15 off $75 or more, and $10 off $50 or more.
One great deal I noticed is $19.99 for any size fleece or microplush blanket( reg. $39.99-69.99). WOW!!

FREE Pictures @ CVS- 8x10 & 5x7

Go to http://cvs.pnimedia.com/home.aspx and you can get a FREE 5x7 and a FREE 8x10 print. Put a 5x7 and a 8x10 into your cart and use the code ENLARGE. You can also sign up for a CVS photo account with your email and Extracare card number and you will get an email for 50 free 4x6 prints. The FREE 8x10 and 5x7 offer is good until 12/24.

There is usually a surcharge of $1.49 on orders under $5. When I checked out online my total was over $5, as the 5x7 is $1.49 and the 8x10 is $3.99. Make sure to print your receipt and bring it into CVS to show the $0.00 subtotal. Now we just need to find a good deal on picture frames. Let me know if you found any. Enjoy!

My Kohl's trip

So I took a trip over to Kohl's to see what I could find. I had my $5 FREE coupon and my fiance had his. We walked around the store to see what they had. I found a 12 pack of wash cloths on sale for $4.99. They were originally $9.99 and now 50% off. So the wash clothes were FREE with my coupon. My fiance said he needed a cheese grater- so he found one that was $7.99 with 25% off, so the total was $5.99. After his coupon- the total OOP was $1.05. I was VERY happy with our trip. Kohl's just opened a store in my area. I have yet to check it out, but now with a FREE $5 gift, I will be on my way. Visit Kohls.com and towards the bottom of the page you can sign up for email alerts. Once you sign up, they email you a coupon for a FREE $5 off any purchase. Yes, you could find something for $5 in store and pay nothing!! Also, if you prefer to shop on-line, they send you a 10% off coupon for Kohls.com as well. It takes up to 10 days to receive the emails. Now that I have my coupon and I signed my fiance up too- so my 2 coupons, I am ready to visit Kohl's. I will let you know what I find. Olay Offer- FREE Products

Wow- there is a great deal out there for Olay Regenerist products. In the Sunday paper on the back page of the P&G coupon ad, it tells you to go to Olay.com for details on how to receive a $15 gift card. Here is the link: http://www.olay.com/Club_Olay/dec2008/images/OLAY820_giftcard_form.pdf .

This week at Walgreens they have Olay Regenerist cleansers BOGO 50% off. I stopped in tonight and bought two cleansers, they were $9.99 & then the second one was $4.99. Then I used the $5 off 2 cleansers coupon from the P&G ad. I will also mail in my receipt for a $15 gift card back.
So I paid: $14.98- $5.00= $9.98 - $15 GC= make $5.02!! My Walgreens still had many cleansers left- so hurry in and get yours. Have you done this deal yet..let us know. Enjoy!

Coupon organization 101

I am sure everyone organizes their coupons a little different, but I thought I would share my way. I purchased a pretty pink coupon organizer from Wal-Mart.

First, I like to cut all my coupons from the Sunday paper. I then organize them on the floor into categories. My 10 categories are: Make-up, Frozen Foods, Snacks & Juices, Meats, Cleaning Supplies, Dental, Razors, Paper Goods, Beauty, and finally Restaurants.

As I put my new coupons in, I look for any expired coupons.

My organizer has a front area- this is what I call my "TODAY" shop. I'll put in the coupons I plan using this week to make it easier. Of course, when I see a great deal while I am shopping, I dig through for a coupon.

CVS deals 12/14-12/20 and a peak at next weeks deals

First off, hopefully everyone has a CVS extracare card by now. If not, just ask at the register. Extracare cards do not cost any money, but will save you HUNDREDS.

The deals this week are not that great- but a good start for beginners.
Here are some key terms:
OOP= out of pocket
EB= Extra bucks-(CVS reward dollars)

Here is an easy transaction:
Colgate Total is on sale for $2.99, and you get $2.00 back in extra bucks rewards. There are many coupons out there for $1 off Colgate Total. The limit on this deal is 2, so you can get 2 tubes of toothpaste for FREE after extra bucks.

If your totally new to extrabucks and need to stock up on shampoo as well, Pantene Pro-V is on sale for $5.99, with $2.00 back in extra bucks rewards. There was a $2.00 coupon in yesterday's newspaper.

Transaction 1:
Buy 2 Colgate toothpaste $5.98- $2 in Colgate coupons= $3.98+ tax OOP, get $4 in EB back

Transaction 2:
Buy Pantene Pro-V 25.4-25.8oz. $5.99-$2 Pantene coupon=$3.99 and use your $4 in EB. You will then get $2 in EB to use on your next purchase.

Remember you can do as many purchases and keep rolling your EB's over.

Next week's 12/21-12/27 CVS ad will have over 30 products FREE after EB's on Sunday and Monday ONLY.

Make Me Over

Over the weekend, my fiance and I had our engagement photo shoot with our photographer. So of course, I wanted to have my makeup done. I have been needing to buy new makeup and found a great deal. At the mall, I set up an appointment at the MAC counter. I had a great girl who spent an hour teaching me how to put the makeup on properly and did a wonderful makeover. She showed me the proper foundation, eye shadows and brushes to use. She even wrote all the products down with a diagram on putting on eye shadow. All I had to spend was $50 on products. Here is what I ended up buying:
$38 for a holiday set of 6 eyeshadows. Each one is normally $14.
$12 for fake eyelashes- which looked great in photos
$14.50 for an eyeliner- Did not need to buy to get to $50- but really liked the color

I ran into Publix and needed Salad dressing. I had a rain check for the Kraft dressing, as they were out at my Publix last time they were on sale for BOGO FREE. Applebee's deal

I wanted to let everyone know about the Applebee's gift card offer for the holidays. You can get $10 in free bonus cards with every $50 in gift cards you buy. I stopped in today to my local Applebee's and picked up a $50 gift card and they gave me a coupon for $10 off my next visit. The coupon expires 2-28-2009, so this gives you plenty of time.
