Thursday's Wedding Tip #8

Tip # 8- Picking a wedding florist might seem difficult, but here are a few tips:

-Bring in pictures of what you like from past weddings you have seen and in magazines
-Many people are allergic to certain flowers- here is a great article to read first
-Make sure you meet with at least 3 different florists
-Get quotes from all 3 and compare
-Have each florist make you a sample centerpiece and get all the details in writing

I was between two different florists choices and when I actually looked at the quote sheet, one florist wanted a $250 delivery fee, where the other did not charge. The company with the fee said she would take off $100, but I still was not satisfied. I went with the other florists and could not have been happier. Enjoy!

Thursday's Wedding Tip #7

Happy Thursday and Wedding Tip Day. This is week #7, if you missed last week, check it out here.

Tip # 7- Make sure you eat the day of your wedding. I know there is A LOT going on, but you won't feel good or be able to enjoy every minute of it if you don't eat. Have either a BIG breakfast and small lunch if you are having a night time wedding. Or just have snacks throughout the day. Make sure you eat some protein which will give you your energy. I personally had a decent size breakfast and then some turkey lunch meat on crackers during the afternoon. I didn't get a chance to eat during the wedding, but the country club packed up our dinners and we ate at 2 in the morning. The food was FABULOUS. Also, make sure you drink water throughout the day too. Enjoy!

Well the coupon is good for the FREE Roastburger with ANY soft drink purchase. Arby's now has a Value Menu and they have a Value Size Drink for $1. We ordered 2 Value Size Drinks and Two Value Size Fries for $4. The lady at the counter said the coupon would not work with the Value Size Drink, but the manager overheard and had to adjust the coupon. Print your coupon here, and it is good through 7/13/09. My husband found a great site for me to buy discounted restaurant deals. There is a radio station that every Thursday at 6pm they offer local restaurant coupons at half off. Today they are selling $50 Stir Crazy gift cards for only $25. I love Stir Crazy so very much, so I will definitely be buying one. They have some deals left from prior weeks too. Thursday's Wedding Tip #6

Happy Thursday! For all my wonderful soon to be brides, here is your wedding tip for the day:

Tip #6- Make a nail appointment for your fiance and yourself a day before your wedding. You need to make sure both your hands are groomed nicely for your big day. There will be many pictures of your hands throughout your day. My husband was very happy I thought of him and his cuticles. Just in case you were wondering he got clear and I got Pink and White Acrylics. Enjoy!

Weddings Over..What's Next?

Now that my wedding is over...the next step is to buy a Home.

My husband and I live in an apartment now, but with all the first time home buyer deals out now, we need to act fast. If you don't know about the $8,000 first time homebuyer credit- get all the details here.

Here are a few tips I agree with:
-BUY a home you can AFFORD. Once you really sit down with the numbers, it is a real reality check about how much home you can afford. We are just starting out and don't want to be mortgage poor.

-Check your credit score and make sure to not make any big changes the months before you apply for a mortgage. Don't apply for new credit cards and don't cancel any cards.

-Make sure you buy in a good school district. We do not have children yet, but now a days you might need to live in your home for at least 5-7 years to make any money on your on investment. You need to check out all the schools in your area.

Ready for your wedding Tip of the day.


Tip #5- Have a signature drink or two for when your guests walk into the cocktail hour. We had two signature drinks: pink cosmos and mojitos. Our guests loved them. The worst is walking in to the cocktail hour and not having a nice drink. They might not all want your signature drinks- but I promise you more than 70% of your guests will love the drink and happy to be refreshed. This will also alleviate the stress at the bar.
