L.A. Candy Book Review
I picked up L.A. Candy Friday and just finished it. I just LOVED the book. If you like the MTV show "The Hills", then you will LOVE this book. The book relates so much to the show, but in a positive way. I learned how they set scenes up and how rumors get started on the show.
Stop reading here if you haven't read the book yet:
The book follows 4 girls(Jane, Scarlett, Madison and Gaby)- what a coincidence to L.C., Heidi, Whitney, Audrina. Jane and Scarlett are best friends who move to L.A. and they are at the right place at the right time and get an offer to be in a new reality show L.A Candy. The book follows all 4 girls throughout their days and nights out. You learn that anyone that appears on camera must sign a release form and how the girls have to get miked all the time. Jane and Scarlett meet many friends along the way. Scarlett is a student at U.S.C. and Jane works as an intern for the hottest event planner in town. Jane meets her new love interest Braden just days before taping. How can she hide her feelings for Braden on camera. Braden does have this on-again off-again girlfriend though. So is the reality show set up when the hot playboy Jesse hits on Jane? Did I mention Jesse is Braden's best friend? You will have to read the book to find out more...
You will start to see many similarities to L.C. and Heidi season 1. At first I thought L.C. was like Scarlett, but then she becomes more like Jane. The book is about 325 pages, but you won't be able to keep your hands off it. I would love to hear you thoughts on Lauren Conrad's first novel L.A. Candy.
I'm planning on watching I Love You, Beth Cooper tonight- I'll post my review tomorrow..Enjoy!

I just put LA Candy on hold at my library. sounds great!
ReplyDeleteI actually read the book right when it came out. I thought LC's story was great and totally related to her. I am a big HILLS fan. The ending made it seem like she is writing her next book. Hope she does.
