Happy Thursday and Happy Wedding Tip Day.

Wedding Tip#12- After your ceremony, take a few minutes to be alone with your groom( or bride) to just enjoy the moment and take everything in. The whole day is about your both and you will want to remember this moment forever. I remember after my ceremony, my husband and I went into the bridal suite and had about 10 minutes to relax and discuss how great the ceremony went. We had some quick finger foods too while our guest were at the cocktail hour. Then we joined our guests for the rest of the evening.

After the ceremony, this is when most brides change into comfy shoes if they are going to.

My Saturday Deals

Well I have been out all day and here is why....

First I did a Walgreens shop. Here is what I got:

4 soups( we had two for lunch already)
2 Twix
2 Dry Idea Deodorants
3 packs of Huggies wipes( you can't see them- they are behind the carpet fresh)
and the great GATORS blanket(on clearance for $5.50)

I had some Register Rewards I used from last week and even got back a $5 RR since I spent over $25. After coupons I spend $4.57 OOP!!


I have been hearing all about the wonderful DOUBLE COUPONS at Kmart this week and there is not one close by me. My husband knew how badly I wanted to go and HE ACTUALLY went with me. The closest one is about 30 minutes away, but it was near where we were heading for dinner.

My wonderful Kmart Shopping trip:

Everything was very pricey there, but they had these cute perfumes for your purse. They are usually $25 EACH, but there was a $10 Sign. I went to the checkout with two of them and got them for FREE. I had a coupon for my husband and he also got TWO FREE.( You can see all 4 in the picture).

Pollo Tropical Taste Testing

I had a great lunch today. Here's what happened....

I walked into Pollo Tropical for lunch with some co-workers and there was a taste test going on. The taste test company asked us if we would like to test a new product. The product was "Spicy Chicken". We said sure!!

We each got a 1/4 spicy chicken to try and a questionnaire. There was about 20 questions about the product value and taste. We all enjoyed it, the chicken was spicy though- so if you LOVE spicy, you would love it.

When we finished, the survey company gave us each $5 coupons to Pollo Tropical to use ANYTIME.

We all headed back to work very happy with our FREE lunch and FREE lunch($5) coupon for next time.

We didn't know Pollo Tropical was having this taste testing today, we just got lucky. What a great day...Have you seen this around your town? Enjoy!

Wedding Gifts on a Budget

I have received many emails about how to give a great wedding gift on a budget. These days the economy is not getting much better and a typical wedding gift has been increasing in value. Here are some ideas on great wedding gifts that won't brake the bank.


1- Make a scrapbook for the couple of their courtship. This takes some planning and time, but it is a wonderful gift and the Bride and Groom will cherish it over the years. You can buy supplies at Michael's ( as there are usually 40% off coupons), Target (they usually have great $1 scrapbook pages in the $1 Spot section) and also Kohl's (I have picked up scrapbooks for under $10 in the clearance section). You can also make scrapbook pages on the computer from Walgreens. Organize pictures over the years of the couple and even put in some pictures of you with the happy couple. You can do pages from their early years, months of dating, engagement party, bridal shower and even some bachelor/bachelorette pictures.

2- Take their wedding invitation and get it framed. You can frame it many different ways. You can even put picture around it or flowers.

3- Make a date night basket. You can buy a cute basket( $1 store or even Target), buy some wine glasses, get a bottle (or a few for over the years) of wine and some candles.

4- Honeymoon Basket- You can fill the basket with towels, bride/groom flip-flops, disposable cameras, candles ($1 store) and any other items for the couple to use on their honeymoon. There are honeymoon baskets sold on-line for over $50. You can make your own for under $20 and the bride/groom will be so happy it was personally made by you.

5- If you are on a really tight budget, you can make a coupon book for the happy newlyweds. The coupon book can have coupons like " I will cook you dinner- anything your heart desires", "Free babysitter" (if the couple has kids) or even " Movie and popcorn night at my house".

Now that I am a Newlywed...

First comes love, then comes marriage..then comes all the FUN..

Being married is great, but personally not much has really changed. We lived together before we got married, but now we are official. I am still getting used to saying "my husband". I do LOVE being married, but a marriage takes work and here is some advice:

Life is stressful, but you need to make time for each other. Make a rule to cook dinner once a week together and always have a date night. Saturday night has always been our "DATE NIGHT" and I love it.

Make sure you each still spend time with your friends, but it is also nice to get together as a group.

Allow each other the freedom to be who you truly are. That's why you married your partner. My husband loves to fish and I love to blog. We each have our fun!

Be open to compromise and suggestions. A marriage must evolve to survive.

Remember you married your partner in sickness and in health...take care of each other.

It is the most wonderful feeling to wake up to the man I love everyday. Have a Happy Tuesday.Enjoy!
