Duck Fest TODAY

Remember last year when I mentioned I want to the Duck Fest Derby. Well today is Duck Fest Derby again in South Florida. The pictures above are from last year, so I will be sure to report back how today goes. If you are in South Florida, head on down to the New River to see 20,000 rubber ducks cross the finish line. Publix Weekly Deals and MIR

I did a quick Publix trip today and actually did better than I expected.

I had my Publix Italian Days Coupon for $5 off $30.

My goal was to spend $30 and I got my total to $31.47. Then all my coupons. My total came to $10.38!!

Here are a few of my highlights:

-2 Muir Glen Tomato Sauce- $0.89/each. Used a $1 manufacturer coupon here and the $1/2 Publix coupon

-Classico Pasta Sauce BOGO FREE: $2.67 and used $1/2 here.

-Wish-Bone Dressing BOGO FREE 16 oz bottle: $2.97, used $1.50/2 from the 1/3 Redplum

-Progresso Bread Crumbs BOGO FREE 15 oz canister: $1.95- I found a Mail In Rebate Form right next to the shelf. So I will be mailing in my receipt for $1.95 back (So I got TWO FREE cans)

I was sent a bunch of makeup from e.l.f. cosmetics to try out to see how it holds up. Here is what I tried:

Liquid eyeshadow- sultry satin #7401
Liquid Eyeliner-Black #4203
Lip Primer & plumper- Clear #82101
Concealer- Warm #6230
Bronzer- Warm #83701

I have been wearing the new makeup all week and love it all. I spent over $50 on my bronzer for my wedding and you can get this awesome bronzer from e.l.f for only $3. I like blending all 4 colors together for the perfect shade for my cheekbones. The Mineral concealer has an SPF of 15, which I always look for when I purchase makeup. You do need a brush to apply it, but it blended in really well with my skin tone.

I never used a lip plumper prior to my wedding and I really noticed a difference with the one from e.l.f. . My lips really looked fuller using the cinnamon scented plumper on top of my perfect lip color. The lip primer is key to having your lip color stay on all day and night. Having the primer and plumper in one stick makes it easier to carry both around. Yummy!!

Now for the eye shadow and liquid liner. I love to wear eye makeup, but sometimes it bothers my sensitive eyes. This was the first time I used liquid eye shadow and my eyes really shined. It was very easy to apply and had staying power. I do use an eye primer as well. I'm not usually that great at putting on liquid eyeliner, but the stick was very easy to use and helped me get a clean line. I was pleasantly surprised that I could apply the liquid liner in the time it takes to use an eye pencil. I don't think I will go back to an eye pencil now. It was the easiest liquid liner I have ever tried and I have got tons of compliments.

None of the products I tried bothered my skin, nor my eyes. Overall, I am impressed with all the wonderful products! All e.l.f. makeup is very affordable and if you like playing around with different shades and colors you can't go wrong with ordering from e.l.f. They have tons of colors. I think their makeup is great for everyday use as well as special events such as weddings. The makeup held up throughout the day. For your wedding day, I would still suggest hiring someone to help apply your makeup. Most makeup artists don't have all your shades and colors and they ask that you bring your own.Check out e.l.f. cosmetics to see all their great products as well as great specials they offer throughout the year.

Thursday's Wedding Tip #35

Happy Thursday!!!

Wedding tip # 35 is making your own cake on a budget using coupons. Think of how many cakes you eat during your wedding process- from your engagement cake, bridal shower cake, rehearsal dinner cake, etc.

Now what if you could make these smaller cakes yourself. I never thought of doing this until recently when a good friend of mine asked if I would help bake a cake for her bridal shower.

So I ended up buying good old Betty (Betty Crocker Cake Mix). Of course I looked for when it went on sale as well as paired it with coupons. There are some great new Betty Crocker coupons out here. The best is $0.75 off when you buy any flavor/variety Betty Crocker SuperMoist Cake Mix. You can find these mixes for about a $1 at Walmart.

Ok, so I am not saying to make your own wedding cake, but for all the smaller events leading up to your big day this is a great way to save some money and bond in the kitchen.
